History
MOFAD was founded in 1989 as an alternative to traditional workers’ compensation insurance programs. As a group self-insured trust, MOFAD caters its insurance services to meet the needs of the individual members.
By acting as an insurance company that exclusively serves fire and ambulance districts in Missouri, MOFAD shields its members from yearly rate fluctuations and underwriting restrictions of traditional insurance markets. Unlike standard insurance, MOFAD trust members are able to secure investment funds remaining after all claims have been paid out on a given year. Trust members are encouraged to take part in the quarterly meetings that provide loss control, safety and claims discussions – tailored to the individual members.

Today, MOFAD consists of several Fire and Ambulance Districts in Missouri. Our trust and claims administration partners are dedicated to providing MOFAD members with a level of service unavailable in the standard insurance market.
